Set Induction and transition to lesson body:
Expand on the video clip with FCCLA handouts on events and competitions, scholarships, and options for events. Explain to students that they will have the option to work in groups of 1-3 and complete either a mock FCCLA project where the best projects, by judging from peers and faculty, will go onto compete. Explain that this project will last a few weeks because most of the work will be done during class time.

Body of Lesson/Procedure:

Learning Activity #1

Give students a copy of these requirements and go over them with the students so they clearly understand what is expected of them in their projects. (explain to the students that this is also their final project)

Transition from Learning Activity #1 to Learning Activity #2:
Ask the students to move their desks into groups.

Learning Activity #2:
Have students then follow event guidelines to complete their Interior Design projects.
Have them use the event rubric to rate their own work. Reserve time for them
to refine the project as needed to increase ratings.
(Students will have work days to complete projects)

Summary
Bring in a team of experts evaluators to judge projects, select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, and identify the student(s) who will represent the class in the next level of FCCLA competition.
