Prompt:
Find a picture of a room that you would enjoy sitting in, analyze the feelings produced by the way line is used in the room.
I love this room! The over all feeling I get from it is formality from the vertical lines of the bottom of the doorways, the chairs, the windows, the rug, and the tables. But this formality is softened by the curved lines of the doorways and chairs and by the relaxing feeling of the horizontal lines on the couch and the rod above the door.
Prompt:
You've been hired to redesign the color scheme for a sunny kitchen. This room is the central zone for your clients and their six-year old son. They want new floor coverings and are willing the have the walls and kitchen cabinets painted. Existing colors include gray cabinets. Cream countertops, and stainless steel appliances.
- Create a sample board that shows your new color scheme.
- Explain why you selected those colors
This picture is representing my sample board because of the colors that are in it. The red and the green are the perfect colors for what I wanted to show. The counter tops would remain cream in the original kitchen and I would take the green plates and make the backsplash this color of green and change the flooring to wood. There are two color schemes represented here, neutral(in the cabinets, appliances, countertops, and flooring) and complimentary (in the red and green). I used neutral to bring in a natural feeling. A relaxed aura to the room and to maximize the sunlight. I used the complimentary color scheme to make the room more playful, relaxed, and to accentuate the brightness of the room.
